Data center operator Delska invites you to the grand opening of a 10 MW data center in Riga, a project that has received the Latvian Construction Annual Award (1st place in the “Production Facility, Industrial Building” category). The new facility is a major contribution to the development of digital infrastructure in Latvia and the Baltics, strengthening the ability of local and international companies to implement modern and secure IT solutions.
The event will provide an opportunity to explore high-availability, scalable, and energy-efficient IT infrastructure solutions that are essential to businesses' digitalization. Such infrastructure enables both small and medium-sized enterprises and large organizations to securely develop digital services and ensure the continuity of their business and IT systems.
The official launch event will take place on April 15, bringing together government officials, industry representatives, businesses, and project partners.
The first part of the event will begin at 9:00 AM with an official ceremony and speeches by governmental officials, including the Speaker of the Parliament, Daiga Mierina, the Prime Minister, Evika Silina, and several ministers. A live stream will be available on the Delska website, social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube), and on Delfi.lv.
The second part will be held in English and will begin at 11:30 AM. It can be attended in person or watched online by registering in advance. The program includes presentations by international industry experts (Dell Technologies, Veeam, 11Stream) and Delska management. Participants will have the opportunity to explore behind-the-scenes of the data center infrastructure, discuss their digitalization, and build business connections.
About the new data center
The new data center is a modular 7,100 m² building with a current capacity of 10 MW and expansion potential of the site to 30 MW. It holds Tier III Design certification, guaranteeing 99.982% uptime, and is currently undergoing Tier III Facility certification.
The infrastructure is designed to support the needs of companies of various sizes to ensure stable daily IT operations as well as high-performance computing and artificial intelligence solutions. The data center offers both standard racks with up to 20 kW and high-performance racks with up to 250 kW.
The data center operates on 100% renewable energy from Northern European wind farms, solar parks, and hydroelectric stations, and uses renewable diesel for backup generators.
Cooperation with “Rigas Siltums” is in development to redirect the generated heat to apartment buildings.
The planned PUE is below 1.3, thanks to modern cooling technologies. The infrastructure supports both air and liquid cooling, ensuring efficient operation even for high workloads and AI solutions.
