On September 9, the Latvian IT Cluster held its first Cybersecurity Community Meeting, bringing together cybersecurity and technology professionals, companies, and organizations. The goal of the meeting was not only to introduce the newly formed community, but also to define its priorities, directions of action, and future cooperation opportunities with industry representatives.

Cybersecurity issues are becoming increasingly relevant for both companies and organizations, as well as society as a whole. Along with the development of technology, digital threats are also changing, therefore, not only the implementation of technological solutions is important, but also knowledge, understanding and the ability to respond to risks in a timely manner. The Cybersecurity Community of the Latvian IT Cluster is designed as a collaborative environment in which industry professionals, companies, education and research representatives and other organizations can combine knowledge and experience to jointly create a safer digital environment in Latvia.

During the first meeting, participants discussed current challenges and areas where community collaboration can make the greatest contribution. As a result of the discussions, three main directions of action for the Cybersecurity community were identified.

Educating the public and youth.

One of the community's tasks will be to promote public awareness of cyber hygiene, digital threats and fraud risks. Special attention will also be paid to young people's knowledge and skills in the safe use of digital technologies.

Support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The community wants to help business leaders and employees better understand cybersecurity issues, their responsibilities, and regulatory requirements, while offering a practical perspective on solutions that can be implemented in everyday business.

Research and testing of new technologies.

Cooperation in research and testing of new technologies will also play a significant role. This will allow for timely identification of new digital threats, exchange of knowledge and experience, and search for more effective approaches and solutions to strengthen cybersecurity.

The first meeting marked the beginning of broader cooperation. In the future, the Cybersecurity Community plans to develop specific initiatives, organize educational and experience-sharing events, as well as create collaborative projects in which experts from different fields can combine their competencies to solve common cybersecurity challenges.

The Latvian IT Cluster invites other companies, cybersecurity and technology professionals, educational and research institutions, as well as organizations that are ready to share experience, engage in joint initiatives, and contribute to creating a safer digital environment in Latvia to join the Cybersecurity Community.

Cybersecurity is not just a matter of technology - it is a shared responsibility, in which cooperation, knowledge and the ability to learn from each other play a crucial role.
