Latvian IT Cluster and HTC Latvia strengthen cooperation opportunities in the field of health technology in Germany
The Latvian IT cluster and our new initiative - the healthcare technology community HTC Latvia participated in the visit of the Latvian Minister of Economics Viktors Valains and a delegation of entrepreneurs to Berlin, representing Latvia's ICT and health technology competencies and creating new contacts for cooperation with the German health, research and innovation ecosystem.
During the visit, the Latvian delegation visited Campus Berlin-Buch – one of the most important life sciences and health innovation centers in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, where biomedical research, clinical medicine, biotechnology, and medical technology organizations operate in one place.
This visit was our opportunity to introduce the HTC Latvia approach to our German partners, to build new collaborations between healthcare organizations and technology companies, connecting real healthcare needs with Latvian ICT competencies. The talks focused on developing joint pilot projects and practical implementation of new technological solutions in healthcare.

“International cooperation allows Latvian technology companies not only to explore new markets, but also to form partnerships where our competencies can become part of shared solutions. HTC Latvia’s goal is to connect real healthcare needs with Latvia’s ICT competencies. In Berlin, it was particularly valuable to discuss this approach in an international context and look for opportunities for joint pilot projects and partnerships,” emphasizes Nellija Mahova, HTC Latvia Program Manager.
HTC Latvia community members Double Helix Technologies , GASTRO CENTRS, and Riga East Clinical University Hospital were also represented during the visit, complementing the delegation's discussions with their experience and expertise.
Participation in the visit to the Latvian IT cluster and HTC Latvia was an important step in connecting Latvia's health technology and ICT competencies more closely with international innovation networks and laying the foundation for specific cooperation initiatives between Latvia and Germany.
The activity was implemented within the framework of project No. 1.2.1.1/2/25/A/004 “Internationalization and growth promotion of the Latvian IT cluster and cooperation network participants”.
