Latvian EDIH 2.0 for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence & High Performance Computing (NEXTDIH-LV)
Within NEXTDIH-LV, the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) acts as a national focal point for excellence in trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC) and cyber-secure digital processes. The project’s mission is to help at least 250 Latvian SMEs, mid-caps and public administrations test, implement and scale data-driven solutions that are energy-efficient, human-centric and fully compliant with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.
The project's goals are to increase the proportion of Latvian companies using EU-developed AI by 2029, attract at least EUR 6 million in further investment, and create a paid service model that ensures the sustainability of the center after the end of the EU co-financing period.
NEXTDIH delivers all four mandatory pillars of the Digital Europe programme:
Digital transformation and AI testing environment;
Access to HPC infrastructure and digital twin technologies;
Digital skills development programs;
Digitalization of the public sector.
