On 3 October 2018, the RTU Riga Business School obtained the status of a Recognised Teaching Institution and the University of London’s permission to implement the International Foundation Programme.

What is the University of London International Foundation Programme (UoL IFP) at the RTU Riga Business School?

This is a unique opportunity to study a foundation course for entry into any British university, many universities in Europe, USA and Australia competing on equal terms with the graduates of British secondary schools (A-levels) and IB programmes. Talented high school students will be able to combine studying in the IFP programme with studying at high school . This way, students will be trained to meet the highest academic standards while living at home.

Tatiana Ginzburg, Director of the RBS University Preparation Center, ‘In order to compete for places at top universities, talented pupils need more training that is available in a secondary school. High admission requirements for the UoL IFP, the programme itself and study materials have been developed by the academics of the University of London. They also prepare and mark final exams which are held in an independent examination centre. All this allows us to be absolutely sure of the high academic quality of the programmes and objectivity of the results. The official permission from the University of London to teach this programme is a stamp of quality of a kind!’

In the programme, students are expected to study and pass exams in four subjects:

Mathematics and Statistics; Economics, Sociology, International Relations.

In addition, Academic English will be taught as a support subject. Apart from that, students planning to study at British or American universities will be consulted on the application process. For those wishing to get a bachelor's degree at RBS, part of the 1st year subjects will be credited.
